Diana & Apollo Killing Niobe’s Children by Jacques Louis David

Perfectionment Art

Niobe

As is evident by the title, the Greek mythological context of this objectively beautiful painting is self-explanatory. Humans look human. Deities look like deities. The observer can identify what is what, and what each character is feeling. There is undeniable skill involved in this painting and the painter clearly keeps a consistent frame and and respects the perspective.

What was once a relic of the Ancient Greeks comes to life in a stunning display of artistic excellence. This is why J.L. David does not require loonie bin conspiracy theories to justify his errors as if they were normal – his work has no errors (at least not to the untrained eye).
